Since I’ve become a grandma, I’ve found myself running to get everything done. Juggling has become my means of survival, but instead of gaining efficiency, I keep dropping the plums. My determination has left me feeling frustrated and depleted.
To deal with my feelings of incompetency, I’ve learned to accept a lot of things that I would rather not, like packing on a few more pounds because of time and energy lapses, wearing a simple wardrobe like t-shirt and jeans, saying good bye to high heels, and learning to be okay with very little make-up. I simply don’t have the time anymore, nor do I feel like making the effort it takes to keep on par with all the media claims a woman aughta have. So, just like cleaning out my closet, i’ve had to take another look at my lifestyle and decide what to keep and what to let go of.
When it comes to my ‘make-up routine,’ I’ve become much more focused on nourishing my skin then on using the right shade of eye shadow. As the fine lines begin to appear and deepen with time, I realize that age is becoming a major force to be dealt with. Besides choosing healthy food choices and rehydrating with lots of water, I have fallen in love with three particular beauty products that I use daily. I’m excited to share them with you.
tarte 100% Pure Maracuja Oil
is an emollient extracted from the Passion Flower and the seeds that grow in the Amazon. It is rich in essential fatty acids, vitamin C, and other natural ingredients that nourish and hydrate my skin. I apply it first thing after I cleanse my face in the evening. It feels soft, light and moist. I’ve used Tarte Maracuja Oil for over a year now and I wouldn’t be caught dead without it.
Every morning, I apply tarte Tarteguard 30 Sunscreen Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 30. As a non-chemical, all-mineral sunscreen, it contains nourishing botanicals that help moisturize, soften, brighten and replenish my skin. The ingredients are all natural, including red algae, maracuja, apple, honeysuckle and soybean extracts that work together to stimulate collagen, elastin, and protein production. This non-sticky, lightweight lotion has a subtle, pleasant scent. I’ve notice a brightening and smoothing of my skin. I’m completely down for this product, and like the Pure Maracuja Oil, it will remain with me for life.
Last, but not least, is the Tarte Maracuja Rainforest Glow Instant Matte Waterproof Body Perfector. This is my choice of foundation, so to speak. Not only is it packed full of healthy, nourishing ingredients, but it looks and feels great. It is actually an instant matte waterproof body perfector that is intended to use all over for a natural looking tan. It is streak free and dries quickly. The key ingredients are Maracuja Oil and Vitamin C which work together to supply a firmer, smoother and natural looking skin without the skin imperfections. I had a bad case of acne years ago on one cheek that stayed with me for over a year. It left some uneven redness that was noticeable but since I have used these products it has lessened and is undetectable when I wear this instant bronzer. In the summertime I use it on my legs as well to cover some of my spider veins that seem to keep popping out of the woodwork.
The benefits of choosing to live a healthy lifestyle are abundant. Exercise and nourishing food are also an important part of my daily regime. This all works together to build my confidence and sense of well-being as I age. And I want to feel and be on top of my game with style…
